Dr. Lisa Palleson

CEO/PRESIDENT Ph.D, M.A. B.A.

Lisa Palleson obtained her Ph.D in International Business with Honours in the U.K. She ran a European Union funded project on technology and Innovation and led a programme on global branding. She created her first retail company, Lotuswear, which grew into a 100 employee + company and had the role as president and CEO. She became an early adopter in several industries and has continued building value from the ground up. She has built a successful brand, Health-well, that targets the Asian marketplace using disruptive marketing to penetrate social markets. Her most recent venture has focused on the newly emerging medical marijuana space building consumers brands for market.

In recent years, her attention has shifted to blockchain. She continues to lecture at the Masters level and as both a speaker and lecturer she makes a valuable contribution to blockchain pedagogy and will be joining the National Cannabis association as a speaker. She is presently giving seminars and facilitating workshops with industry leaders. She is working on three blockchain solutions. As CMO with the AIBB team, an AI (artificial intelligence) assisted trading platform, as well as an exchange. She’s heading up the development of a platform for companies in the medical marijuana space.

Dong H Shim

CFO

Dong Shim is a member of the Chartered Professional Accountants of British Columbia and a Certified Public Accountant registered in the State of Illinois, United States. Mr. Shim has served as an audit partner on numerous audit engagements with a mid-size firm located in Vancouver, British Columbia. Mr. Shim has audited various publicly traded companies, primarily focusing on junior mining, oil and gas, pharmaceutical, and high-tech industries. As an audit partner, he also assisted various start-up companies go public on TSX Venture Exchange, Canadian Securities Exchange and the OTC Market. Dong is currently the President of SHIM Accounting Corporation mainly focusingon business advisory, corporate consulting and regulatory filings both in the United States and Canada. Mr. Shim is also the CFO of ePlay Digital Inc. and International Private Vaults Inc. and a director of Deploy Technologies Inc. and National Issuer Services Ltd. Mr. Shim also teaches accounting as an instructor at a local college in Vancouver and acts as a facilitator at CPA Western School of Business mentoring CPA candidates enrolled in the CPA Professional Education Program.

Joe Wong

Director and President of Asia Pacific Operations

Joe oversees the establishment of the company’s business ventures to ensure they add value and concrete cash flow.
Joe will be assisting Tabu with its cannabis retailing roll-out in Western Canada and with the development and exploration of land and building projects with cannabis-centric tenants in California.
Since 2017, Joe has been involved in the cannabis industry. He’s the founder and CEO of Xerbal Group. He is working closely with one of the largest CBD conglomerates in the U.S. to explore white label opportunities and large-scale farming possibilities. He also seeks to initiate sales of CBD THC isolates/distillates in bulk trading. He has successfully developed Naturelle a CBD pain tropical product line and made it available to the market.
In addition to his significant positions in both Tabu and Xerbal Group, Joe has extensive knowledge about CBD and created an expert extraction consultant team. With over 20 years of experience in international trade, Joe actively applies his strong expertise in data-driven, long-term strategic planning to all of his projects.

James Rutherford

Director and VP of Project Development

Mr. James Rutherford is CEO for NRP Organics and is responsible for running all facets of the business. James has a proven executive management track record and over 20 years of experience driving sales growth in the agriculture and technology industry. In addition to founding NRP Organics, James is the founder and CEO of “O Legado (1011849 BC Ltd.)” the focus of which is Humic and Fulvic based products for human consumption. Prior to founding O Legado and NRP Organics James served as a private consultant working with clients in the Health Canada MMAR, MMAP and LP programs, where he completed several multi-million dollar projects.

James also served with AT&T Canada as a corporate executive account manager where he achieved the position of top hardware sales person corporately. Having negotiated contracts with several Fortune 50 companies; James successfully closed many agreements, with the single largest contract exceeding 14 million dollars. Further, he is actively involved with HomeLife/Canuck Place and has helped raise over $575,000 for children in BC, over the past 16 years. James has attended Simon Fraser University(SFU) and The University of the Fraser Valley (UFV) where he studied business and sciences, and graduated from the University of British Columbia (UBC) Sauder School of Business.

Roy Bosa

Director

Mr. Roy Bosa is one of the third generations of the famous Augusto Bosa, who founded Bosa Foods Inc in 1957. Mr. Bosa brings with him a vast experience of director and managerial practices of business wealth taught by his beloved uncle Augusto and implemented in the food industry for more than a decade. In 2006, the third generation of the family built a modern 54,000 square foot distribution centre and flagship retail store as the need for space surpassed what the original location on Victoria Drive could provide. With over 7,000 SKU’s of specialty products, it is possible to find nearly any traditional Italian or Mediterranean food product at Bosa Foods.

Scott Kajiya

Founder / VP Business Development

Scott has created a vast network of international business relationships and market understanding in both Asia, Latin America, and here in the U.S. He has developed numerous startups from fashion and accessories, to health and nutrition. He also carries a vast experience of finance and capital raising, and taking products from concept to market. He started his career as an art director specializing in music and fashion advertising for top music labels and brands in Tokyo Japan. This work opened the doors for projects in the restaurant, cafe and club industries. He was also the founder and past president of Indian Motocycle Japan.

Current relationships include Dank LLC, Flowstone Tokyo, Nutritional Alliance South Florida, Aquahydrate in Los Angeles, Emerald Partners of Sydney Australia and others. He is a graduate of the University of California Irvine with a B.A. in Social Ecology with additional study in Theology.

Jan Urata

A highly motivated legal support expert and business owner, Jan Urata is experienced in providing corporate finance and securities support for top tier and junior issuers in a variety of industry sectors. Jan is a proven leader, who quickly and successfully responds to ever-changing environments and situations, consistently achieves goals within critical project deadlines, and is able to leverage an eye for detail, ensuring success and quality of work. Her passion to serve clients has led to the establishment of her own contract/consulting business to enable companies to achieve corporate
sustainability through cost effective professional services.

Jan has comprehensive knowledge and applicable understanding of B.C. securities law and the policies and procedures associated with TSX, TSXV, CSE and OTCQX. She excels in her performance-driven and skillful abilities to ensure results are met. Jan remains an analytical and strategic thinker with the highest professional standards and personal integrity.

Sergio Tellez

Lead Facility Consultant

Developed by a 32-year-old Pasadena native named Sergio Tellez, Spliffin has become the preeminent brand in Los Angeles. Along with The Partners, Sergio and the Spliffin team plan on establishing a foot hold in Canada and are planning a public listing there by the end of 2017.

Sergio, who has spent much of the past decade building out cannabis grow rooms and has parlayed that experience into the Spliffin Group in Los Angeles. Spliffin developed cartridges contain solvent-free wax and come in a variety of strains and dosages, with products catering to everyone from the in-pain baby boomer who just started smoking again to the hardcore dabber who throws back a gram of wax a day. Sergio and the Spliffin team intend to build, expand and market their low-dosage pens to new smokers and establishing a lifestyle brand.

Warren Wayne

Founder

Mr. Wayne’s professional career began in the mid 1980s in the motion picture industry, after relocating to Vancouver to work in the film industry. His entrepreneurial career began in the late 80’s when he co-founded Cyberflex Films, the only optical film effects and animatronics company in Western Canada. The company specialized in on screen special effects and designed animatronics and motion control effects for feature films, commercials and television. Cyberflex completed work for clients such as Much Music, Air Canada and Ikea. By the early 1990s Mr. Wayne had moved into film production where he worked full time for 15 years.

Warren’s clients include 20TH Century Fox, HBO, ABC Television and Paramount Pictures. In 2000 Mr. Wayne established Voyager Films and the company went public as part of a consolidation. Warren was president of the company’s music label Street Solid Records in Los Angeles as well as project development and foreign sales President. The company’s music division was very successful and as part of the company’s over-all strategy, was sold to investors two years later. The company also developed streaming technology, used by International film distributors as well as Sports Illustrated and was one of the first streaming companies in North America dedicated to pay-per- view distribution. The division was later sold to former partners from MSG Entertainment in New York.

Mr. Wayne parlayed his experiences in finance and corporate development to include work in oil and gas in Texas, as well as developing streaming technology for the film industry. He has arranged funding for several projects including a $30,000,000 funding for a U.S based utility. Mr. Wayne developed early stage companies such as WULU, Mombasa Coffee’s and Tana Goldfields. Other projects such as mining company Blue Cap, traded on the Frankfurt Exchange in Germany and Endeavour Oil and Gas. Mr. Wayne is also the co-founder of Maverick, a Canadian company currently completing an acquisition of Nutrilife, a Canadian agricultural company. The company is slated to IPO by July of 2017 and has completed its first round of financing. Mr. Wayne has also traveled throughout much of the world including the Kalahari Desert in Africa and the jungles of Borneo. Warren was the first Canadian in history to land on Bouvet Island in the Antarctic Convergence as part of a 1997 expedition, an island only visited a handful of times in human history. Other locations include the Falkland Islands, South Georgia Island and the South Sandwich Islands first discovered by Captain James Cook.

Chris Campbell

After spending a few years playing on various professional golf tours in the U.S. Christopher ventured into the capital markets industry, his other passion. At age 24 he was managing 40 million dollar book of business for a private institution before his curiosity got the best of him and he moved into the fund management side of the business.

Chris worked for Invesco Capital Management helping private advisors use risk mitigation for strategic and tactical portfolio management. Soon after Chris was offered an opportunity with BlackRock Asset Management to manage relationships and the integration of technology and fundamental investment philosophy into BlackRock’s strategies. While there he developed technology and strategies for some of San Francisco’s largest portfolio managers and their clients. Chris later managed his own fund based off of futures and forex trading. he decided to enter the Impact space to really make a difference.

Today Chris finds himself working as an investor with a private equity fund based out of Hong Kong. Both Chris and Mike will be reviewing potential Tabu projects as an extra set of eyes, ensuring that projects presented will function in the best interests of shareholders.

Matthew Howison

Matthew Howison is a lawyer and investment banker who has held senior positions at NM Rothschild & Sons (Australia) Limited, Turnbull & Partners, Goldman Sachs and Salomon Smith Barney before establishing the boutique merchant banking; firm Emerald Partners in 2004 headquartered in Sydney. In 2008 Emerald Partners established an office in Los Angeles and in 2010 a representative office in Hong Kong.  

In a career spanning twenty-five years he has been involved in advising on domestic and cross border mergers and acquisitions and capital raising transactions including IPO’s for major Australian and international corporations. He has sector expertise in the metals and mining, energy, media, technology and real estate industries. He is an active investor in, and adviser to, a wide range of early stage companies many of which he has taken through to IPO. He has particular expertise and knowledge of US and Australian capital markets and is regularly involved in US/Australia and US/Asia cross border transactions.  

Mr. Howison has worked in the US, UK, Australian and Asian capital markets and has considerable experience in the emerging markets of Russia, China, South America and South Africa particularly in relation to natural resources and energy investments and transactions.

Mr. Howison holds bachelor and master’s degrees in law from the University of Sydney and completed his MBA degree at the London Business School and on secondment to Columbia University in New York where he was a part time lecturer in applied corporate finance. He was previously admitted to the New South Wales Bar and is a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales. He served on the Board of the Museum of Contemporary Art from 2002-2005 and is currently a board member of PICA since 2010 (Perth Institute of Contemporary Art). 

Mike Jennings

Mike is the head grower for the Big Flower Grow Company, based in the State of California. Michael is also the co-founder of Loud Seeds, a multiple High Times Cannabis Cup winner, cannabis breeding and cultivation company. He has been involved in cannabis cultivation, breeding and marketing for more than 15 years and has established many brands in both the United States and Europe. The development of these brands and their position in the industry has enabled Mike to develop close business relationships with the leading cannabis seed breeders, distributors and collectors providing unparalleled access to cannabis genetics. His company, Loud Seeds, has been named one of the top 40 seed banks of all time by High Times Magazine and has been inducted into the Seed Bank Hall of Fame. Loud Seeds has also appeared in multiple articles and features in High Times Magazine including The Million Dollar Grow Room, Americas Next Pot Kings and Top Ten Strains of the Year. Finally, Mike has owned and operated several licensed dispensaries in California providing an in depth insight into the legal compliance, marketing and distribution of medical cannabis in the largest market in the United States.
